Plan of Attack for the 2010 NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys
A quick look at the Dallas Cowboys and what they may or may not do in the coming offseason and NFL Draft

Starting with the Saints all the way down to the Rams with the first pick, Draftseason will be taking an in depth look at each team.  We’ll analyze their needs, track free agent gains and losses, and then figure out a plan of attack the team will take for the first three rounds of the draft.  Keep checking back as new teams will be added daily, and teams will be updated as new free agents are signed or lost.

Round 2: S, Chad Jones, S, Reshad Jones, OT Rodger Saffold, OT Selvish Capers, WR Damian Williams, WR Brandon LaFell, WR Mardy Gilyard, WR Dezmon Briscoe, OG John Asamoah, OG Vladimir Ducasse
Round 3: WR Eric Decker, WR Taylor Price, WR Jacoby Ford, WR Jordan Shipley, G John Jerry, OT Jared Veldheer, OL Zane Beadles, S TJ Ward, S Myron Rolle, S Morgan Burnett

Plan of Attack: The Cowboys are one of the few teams without any glaring needs.  They could use help at safety and some more young depth on their offensive line but they may just sit back and take the best player available each round regardless of position.  For the sake of this article we’ll focus their needs as safety, wide receiver, and offensive line.

In round 1 the Cowboys could have some talented young receivers staring them in the face.  DeMaryius Thomas, Golden Tate, and Arrelious Benn could all be available at pick 27.  The Cowboys would be wise to take one of them especially since their relationship with Roy Williams continues to sour.

In round 2 the Cowboys can look to get a safety or some offensive line help.  A safety like Chad Jones from LSU would be tempting.  He is a big hard hitting defender who also shows good speed and hands.  He could very well earn a starting role.  If they decide to address their offensive line here Rodger Saffold would be the best bet, if available.  He is 6?5 320 pounds and showed great athleticism at the Combine.  He would provide solid depth at both tackle positions.

In round 3, the Cowboys will again be looking at safety or offensive line depending on which way the go in round 2.  Some safeties who could be available would be T.J. Ward, Morgan Burnett and Myron Rolle.  Rolle is someone to keep an eye on as Jerry Jones is a media whore and drafting the Rhodes Scholar would definitely get him some attention.  If they go offensive line here then they are looking at a versatile offensive lineman in Utah’s Zane Beadles who would provide depth at both guard and tackle, or small school standout OT Jared Veldheer who is a 6?8 giant.
