Felix Jones, the pass catcher, keeps getting better
Todd Archer / Reporter – Dallas Morning News
I was never really a believer in that. Jones did not come from a sophisticated passing attack at Arkansas and he didn’t seem to be a natural pass catcher.
I’m starting to come around, although I’m not going to compare him to Westbrook just yet. That guy was too special for too long.
But Jones is on pace for 54 catches and 503 yards. The receptions would be the most by a Dallas running back since Richie Anderson had 69 in 2003 and the yardage would be the most since Herschel Walker had 715 in 1987.
Jones had seven catches for 69 yards Thursday vs. New Orleans. He’s caught at least two passes in all but two games this season. He has become better in space, as evidenced by the 71-yard screen play three games ago vs. the New York Giants.
Considering he had 21 catches in his first 20 games over two seasons what Jones has done as a pass catcher has been pretty impressive.
