bg 1 150x150 Roberts 3 Point Stance | Surprising Observations (3 of 3)I’ve got some surprising observations about the game that might fly in the face of conventional wisdom.

1)      We have too many receivers.  Because three of them are liabilities.  At this point, TO is looking like a good option.  Seriously.  After all, Tony Romo is “his” quarterback.  The drop-off between Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and Kevin Ogletree, etc. is too big.

2)      Doug Free was overmatched by Orakpo.  First, Orakpo is no scrub.  He’s not Ware, but he’s in the same ballpark.  He got past Free a few times right on camera.  The problem was technique.  Free was letting his body and hips get turned inside then out trying to anticipate Orakpo.  This left Orakpo with the option to pinch in or rush around the corner.  He got to Romo on the outside and by cutting on the inside.  After that, Free got his technique fixed.  His footwork was excellent and he kept his shoulders square to the line until Orakpo committed.  Also, Orakpo’s injury didn’t hurt.  Remember, it’s never OK to be happy when a player is injured.  This doesn’t apply to Redskins or Eagles due to a special clause in the Geneva Convention.
