Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots – 3:00 pm TV: CBS
HERE IS WHAT I PREDICT ….
Feel the Energy! Would only imagine the Ravens would likely shadow safety Ed Reed on Patriots all-pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, and play bump and run on all of Tom Brady’s mass weapons of destruction receivers he has. This factor is a must to try to put a halt on New England’s tremendous route runners. But this could only work if one of the more dominant down lineman units in the game featuring Haloti Ngata, Pernell McPhee, Paul Kruger and Cory Redding, Baltimore’s defense sports can puncture the pocket to free up Terrell Suggs and get pressure from all angles to disrupt the timing of New England’s high powered passing attack. On the flip side of things, New England’s subpar defense has to stop Ray Rice and Baltimore’s running game and force Joe Flacco into third and long situations on passing downs. But I don’t think New England’s front will be able to stuff the run and I see Baltimore able to control the clock and keep Brady and gang off the field enough. In most cases, home field advantage plays a big role in games of this magnitude. Then it hits me, when I look at both teams and see who’s better at the line of scrimmage and that team is Baltimore in this one.
