The Dallas Cowboys have some interest in recently cut WR Jordan Shipley. There is a roster spot open, so Shipley could be claimed. The Cincinnati Bengals waived wide receiver Jordan Shipley about 24 hours ago. A few teams have shown interest in the former Texas Longhorn player in his 3rd year in the NFL. While playing for the Texas Longhorns, Shipley was one of the best college receivers in the country. He also has a promising rookie season in the NFL. He had 52 receptions for 641 yards as a 6’0?, 189-pound receiver. Last season, Shipley suffered a season ending ACL tear and underwent reconstructive surgery on his knee.
The third wide receiver spot is up for grabs and the Cowboys have a desperate need to fill it. It does not help with concerns over Miles Austin’s hamstring injury and Dez Bryant past injuries. This position has been a huge issue for Cowboys Football heading into the season. Going after Shipley would be a little gamble, since it could take another season to get back to full speed. They have been looking for a slot receiver for the last 3 or 4 years. What have they got to lose?
